When you think of W Hotels, there’s usually the vision of trendy folks with designer luggage and alternate spellings of their names like Brandee or Kevyn but the high-end hotel chain has just released the first ever video game created for a place of lodging.
To celebrate the opening of W Bellevue in Washington state, the chain released Belle the Bear—a Crossy Road, Frogger (if you’re old enough to remember) like experience that puts in the shoes of an adorable 8-bit bear. The object is to make your way through a barrage of vehicles, spiders and other baddies to get to the you guessed it, W Bellevue hotel. Along the way, there are power ups and other special W branded items to grab as you progress.
In addition to enjoying the game, players can submit their names and high scores for a chance to win the grand prize of a complimentary three-night stay in the Extreme WOW Suite at W Bellevue, round-trip airfare for two, dinner for two at The Lakehouse, a $500 shopping spree to The Bellevue Collection, VIP tour and private wine tasting for two at Guardian Cellars. There’s also a private 75-minute seaplane tour of Western Washington, including stunning views of Lake Washington and Mount Rainier. Other prizes include a 2-night stay at W Bellevue w/ dinner for second place, 20,000 Starwood Preferred Guest points for third with fourth and fifth place winning 10,000 SPG points. All that for dodging a bunch of pixels!
Belle the Bear is free and works on mobile phones, tablets and desktops alike. As long as you have an internet connection you’re straight. Since there aren’t any apps to download, there’s no worry about in-app purchases so the kids can play as much as they want with no surprise charges.
Head over to bellethebear.com to give it a spin on your next commute or when you need to shut the little one up for a minute or 10.
